Batman movies should have a truckload of inspirational quotes. The story is based on the constructive response of a wealthy man consumed with revenge over the senseless murder of his parents. However, with the exception of the brilliant Batman Begins, most movies featuring the Caped Crusader lean more to action than deep thoughts. We had to stretch it a bit to get five quotes, but in honor of The Dark Knight release, here are the five wisest quotes from anyone in a Batman movie.
"The will is everything. If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, you become something else entirely. Are you ready to begin?"
Batman Begins (2005) – Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson)
"It’s not who you are underneath, it’s what you do that defines you.”
Batman Begins (2005) – Rachel Dawes (Katie Holmes)
"Despite all your talents, you are still a novice in the ways of family. Master Dick follows the same star as you but gets there by his own course. You must learn to trust him, for that is the nature of family."
Batman and Robin (1997) – Alfred (Michael Gough)
"There's just something about an anatomically correct rubber suit that puts fire in a girl's lips."
Batman and Robin (1997) – Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman)
"They may be drinkers, Robin, but they're still human beings."
The Batman Movie (1966) – Batman (Adam West)
