Movie quote from: Van Wilder (2002) - Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds)
Worry is fantasy done poorly. It serves no value to anticipate things that may never happen. Yet worry remains one of the biggest energy-suckers today. Lucky for me, I learned a perspective that always helps to tuck all present-day worries away.
If I get an inkling of a worry, I think back ten years. I remember that most things that seemed so important then are not important now. Those old worries are just kind of funny today.
Ten years from now, I recognize that many of today's concerns will be something I look back at and laugh. So, what am I waiting for? Why not laugh now? So, I laugh.
Whenever you find yourself overly focused on something that ties you up in a knot, look at it from some distant place. Recognize that it will be less important in the future. Appreciate that more than a billion people in China don't care about your great big concern. It works for me.
